Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disarm airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. Disconnect stop lamp switch electrical connectors.
3. Remove stop lamp switch attaching nut, then remove switch.

INSTALLATION

1. Install switch, then finger tighten attaching nut.
2. Ensure distance from brake pedal to stop lamp switch is .078 inch. If distance is not as indicated, adjust by rotating stop lamp switch.
3. Tighten locknut, then reconnect electrical connectors.
4. Reactivate airbag system as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
