Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL



1. Remove the air intake tube.
2. Disconnect the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor electrical connector.

Mass Air Flow Sensor:

3. Remove the four sensor mounting screws.

Mass Air Flow Sensor Replacement:

4. Remove the MAF sensor assembly from the air cleaner lid.


INSTALLATION


NOTE: Inspect the MAF sensor-to-air cleaner lid gasket for any signs of deterioration. Replace the gasket as necessary. If scraping is necessary, be careful not to damage the air cleaner lid or the MAF sensor gasket surfaces.


1. Position the MAF sensor against the air cleaner lid.
2. Install the four attaching screws. Tighten the screws to 6-9 ft lb (8-12 Nm).
3. Connect the sensor electrical connector.
4. Install the air intake tube.
