Throttle Position Sensor: Service and Repair

Throttle Position Sensor and IAC Solenoid:






REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Disconnect Throttle Position (TP) sensor from engine control sensor wiring (12A581).

3. Remove two TP sensor retaining screws.

4. Remove TP sensor.

INSTALLATION

1. To install TP sensor, reverse removal procedure.

2. Tighten retaining screws to 2.4-3.8 Nm (21-34 in lb).

NOTE: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the powertrain control module relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the adaptive strategy.
