Ambient Temperature Sensor / Switch HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.






2. Remove the ambient sensor mounting nut and remove the sensor.
3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ambient sensor.

INSTALLATION
1. Connect the electrical connector to the ambient sensor.
2. Position the ambient sensor and install the retaining nut. Tighten the retaining nut to 6.2-7.3 Nm (55-64 in lb).
3. Connect the battery ground cable.

NOTE: On vehicles equipped with Electronic Engine Control (EEC), when the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms may occur while the EEC processor relearns its adaptive strategy. The vehicle may need to be driven 10 miles or more to relearn the strategy.

4. Check the system for proper operation.
