Blower Motor Resistor: Service and Repair

NOTE: The blower motor resistor and thermal limiter assembly is installed on the passenger side of the heater case behind the glove compartment. Use only the specified resistor assembly for service replacement. Do not apply sealer to the resistor board mounting surface.

REMOVAL
1. Open the glove compartment and release the glove compartment retainers so that the glove compartment hangs down.
2. Disconnect the wiring harness connector from the resistor assembly.

3. Remove the two resistor retaining screws and remove the resistor from the heater case.

INSTALLATION
1. Position the resistor assembly in the heater case opening and install the two retaining screws. Do not apply sealer to the resistor assembly mounting surface.
2. Connect the wiring harness connector to the resistor.
3. Check the operation of the blower motor.
4. Close the glove compartment.
