Starter Motor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support vehicle.

CAUTION: When disconnecting hard-shell connector at "S" terminal, grasp the plastic shell and pull off. Do not pull on wire.

3. Disconnect starter cable and push-on connector from starter solenoid terminal.
4. Remove upper and lower retaining bolts, then the starter.

INSTALLATION
1. Reverse procedure to install.
a. Torque starter retaining bolts or nuts to 15-20 ft lb.
b. Torque starter cable nut to 80-124 in lb.
