Power Steering Pressure Switch: Service and Repair

Power Steering Pressure (PSP) Switch:






REMOVAL

1. Remove RH radiator support and brace, if required.

2. Disconnect charge air cooler outlet hose at throttle body (if equipped), and position out of the way.

3. Remove the wire connector from the power steering pressure switch.

4. Remove the power steering pressure switch fitting from the pump body.

5. Remove the 0-ring from the fitting.

6. Remove the spring and spring seat.

7. Remove the plunger rod from the pump body.

8. Plug pump position for pressure switch.

9. Inspect all parts for wear, corrosion or damage.

INSTALLATION

1. Remove plug from pump pressure switch location.

2. Install the plunger rod into the pump body with the rubber tip entering the body hole.

3. Install the spring seat over the plunger rod.

4. Install the spring onto the spring seat with the large end of the spring facing out.

5. Install a new 0-ring onto the power steering pressure switch fitting and install the fitting.

6. Install the power steering pressure switch wire onto the terminal.

7. Connect charge air cooler hose (if equipped).

8. Install RH radiator support and brace, if removed.
