Body and Frame: Service Precautions

DEACTIVATE
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then the positive cable.
2. Wait one minute for back-up power supply to deplete stored energy.
3. Remove four bolts retaining air bag module to steering wheel.
4. Disconnect airbag connector.
5. Connect Rotunda Air Bag Simulator 105-00010 to vehicle harness at top of steering column.
6. Remove the passenger air bag, and connect a second air bag simulator to the vehicle wiring harness in place of the air bag.
7. Connect battery cables.

REACTIVATE
1. Disconnect battery ground cable, then positive cable.
2. Wait one minute for backup power supply to deplete stored energy.
3. Remove air bag simulators from vehicle harness at top of steering column and the passenger air bag harness.
4. Reinstall the passenger air bag, and connect wiring connector.
5. Position air bag on steering wheel and secure with four bolts. Connect the wiring connector.
6. Connect battery cables.
7. Verify system operation.
