Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch (For Computer): Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect negative battery cable.

2. Drain cooling system.

3. Disconnect temperature sensor electrical connector.

4. Using a suitable wrench, remove sensor from intake manifold.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: Do not overtighten ECT sensor. Damage to sensor and/or cylinder head may occur.

Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor:






1. Install sensor. Tighten to 18 - 22 ft lb (25 - 29 Nm).

2. Connect sensor electrical connector.

3. Refill cooling system.

4. Connect negative battery cable.
