DE7 - Check For Fuel Separation

NOTE: In this context, fuel separation means the methanol and gasoline blend have become two distinct phases. But, under normal conditions, the methanol and gasoline parts of the fuel would not be identifiable.

- Key "OFF".

- Remove the fuel filter and pour fuel within it into a clear container.

- Visually inspect the fuel within the clear container for fuel separation.

- Pour contents of clear container into fuel filler tube.

- Is fuel separation present?

Yes -- Reinstall the fuel filter. Drop/drain the fuel tank and refill tank with either M85 or gasoline. Go to DE8. DE8 - Compare Expected FF Sensor Response to Actual Response

No -- Replace the Flexible Fuel (FF) sensor. Reinstall the fuel filter. Remove the breakout box. Rerun quick test. Quick Test Appendix (Detailed Testing Instructions)
