Shift Interlock: Testing and Inspection
SHIFTER WILL NOT RELEASE FROM PARK WITH IGNITION IN OFF OR RUN POSITIONS
1. Knob not fully seated.
2. Interlock cable assembly kinked.
SHIFTER RELEASES FROM PARK WITH IGNITION KEY IN LOCK OR ACC POSITIONS
1. Interlock wire not attached to shifter bellcrank.
2. Interlock cable bracket not seated on bellcrank pivot pin.
2. Interlock wire broken.
IGNITION KEY WILL NOT TURN TO LOCK POSITION
1. Interlock cable assembly kinked.
2. Shifter bellcrank binds, bent guide pin.
SHIFTER RELEASES FROM PARK WITH IGNITION KEY IN RUN & BRAKE PEDAL NOT DEPRESSED
1. Solenoid electrical connector disconnected.
2. Interlock cable and solenoid damaged.
