Air Flow Meter/Sensor: Service and Repair





REMOVAL

Mass Air Flow Sensor:




1. Disconnect the MAF sensor electrical connector.
2. Remove the air duct from the MAF sensor housing.
3. Unclamp the upper air cleaner cover and remove the upper air cleaner cover with the MAF sensor assembly attached.



4. Remove the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor assembly nuts, and remove the MAF sensor assembly from the upper air cleaner cover.



5. Remove the two Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor screws, and then remove the MAF sensor from the MAF sensor housing.



6. Inspect the MAF sensor housing screen for holes. If torn, replace the housing.

INSTALLATION
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Tighten the MAF sensor screws to: 8-10 Nm. (71-88 lb.in)
