Data Link Connector: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The Rotunda New Generation Star (NGS) Scan Tool 007-00500 connects to the Data Link Connector (DLC) to provide access to several systems in the vehicle for diagnosis, testing, adjustment and service procedures. The following tests on systems can be accessed through the DLC:

- Electronic engine control diagnosis
- Electronic transaxle control diagnosis
- Throttle position sensor adjustment
- Idle speed adjustment
- Fuel pump relay check
- Engine speed check
- Ignition timing check
- Fuel mixture condition check
- Fuel injector check
- Idle air control check
- Battery voltage check
- Mass air flow sensor check
- Exhaust gas recirculation control solenoid check
- Engine cooling fan relay check
- Heated oxygen sensor check
- Exhaust gas recirculation temperature check
- Vehicle speed sensor check
- Engine coolant temperature sensor check
- Switch monitor diagnosis
- Powertrain control module and transaxle control module part numbers

Located on the LH lower instrument panel, at the bottom center of the interior fuse panel.
