Power Steering Pressure Switch: Description and Operation
Power Steering Pressure (PSP) Switch:
PURPOSE To signal the PCM when the pressure increases (indicating extra engine load). The PCM can then compensate for the load by sending an idle-up signal to the Idle Air Control
(IAC) Valve.
LOCATION The
power steering pressure switch is mounted in the power steering high-pressure line next to the passenger's side shock tower.
