Transmission Position Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.



2. Disconnect the Manual Lever Position (MLP) switch and the Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch connectors.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.



4. Remove the six splash shield bolts, splash shield screw and the LH inner splash shield.



5. Remove the shift cable nut and the shift cable from the manual lever.



6. Remove the three MLP switch bolts from the MLP switch.
7. Remove the MLP switch from the transaxle.

INSTALLATION
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Adjust the Manual Lever Position (MLP) switch.
Tighten the Manual Lever Position (MLP) switch bolts to 3 Nm (27 in lb).
