Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

Transaxle Assembly:

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Disconnect the VSS electrical connector.
4. Remove the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) bracket bolt and bracket.
5. Remove the VSS from the transaxle.

INSTALLATION
1. Install the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) into the transaxle case.
2. Place the VSS hold-down bracket into position and install the VSS bracket bolt. tighten the VSS hold-down bracket bolt to 5-7 Nm (44-61 in lb).
3. Connect the VSS electrical connector.
4. Lower the vehicle.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
