Starting System: Description and Operation

OPERATION
With the Manual Lever Position (MLP) Switch in PARK or NEUTRAL and the Ignition Switch in START or RUN, voltage is applied to the Inhibit Relay. The Inhibit Relay energizes and allows voltage from the Ignition Switch to the Starter Assembly when it is in the START position. The Starter Assembly's Pull-in and Hold windings are energized and the contact closes. With voltage being applied at all times to the contact in the Starter Assembly from the battery, the Starter Assembly will run to crank the engine.
