Neutral Safety Switch: Service and Repair

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Disconnect neutral and MLP switch electrical connectors.
3. Raise and support vehicle.
4. Remove six lefthand inner splash shield attaching bolts and screw, then remove shield.
5. Remove shift cable attaching nut and cable from manual lever.
6. Remove MLP attaching bolts, then remove switch.
7. Reverse procedure to install, adjust MLP switch as follows:
a. Position MLP switch in N position.

MLP Switch Adjustment:

b. Loosen MLP three attaching bolts, then install Gear Position Sensor Adjuster tool No. T92P-70010-CH or equivalent, between MLP alignment holes and manual lever, Fig. 3.
c. Torque the MLP switch attaching bolts to 27 in. lb.

NOTE: The neutral switch is integrated into the Manual Lever Position (MLP) switch and is located on the lower lefthand front of the transaxle.
