Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.

2. Disconnect engine control sensor wiring from Heated Oxygen Sensors (HO2S).

3. Raise vehicle on hoist.

4. Remove HO2Ss from exhaust manifolds using Oxygen Sensor Wrench T94P-9472-A.

NOTE: If excessive force is needed to remove a HO2S, lubricate with penetrating oil prior to removal.

INSTALLATION

1. To install, reverse removal procedure.

2. Tighten HO2Ss to 34-46 Nm (26-34 in lb).
