Keyless Entry Transmitter: Service and Repair

To program (or reprogram) keyless entry remote transmitters (15k601) into the electronic door lock control processor, perform the following steps:

NOTE: The electronic door lock control processor erases all previous keyless entry remote transmitters from memory when the keyless entry remote transmitters are programmed or reprogrammed. The electronic door lock control processor can store up to four keyless entry remote transmitters in memory.

1. Turn ignition switch (11572) to RUN or ACC position and momentarily short the two terminals of the program connector (C4) (a two-pin connector taped to the wire assembly can be reached by removing the left hand luggage trim panel). All doors should lock then unlock. Remove shorting pin.

2. Press any button on keyless entry remote transmitters. All doors should lock then unlock, to verify that keyless entry remote transmitters have been programmed.

NOTE: If door locks do not respond, press button again (up to three times maximum with the same keyless entry remote transmitter). If door locks still fail to respond, go to Pinpoint Test B.

3. Turn ignition switch OFF. All doors should lock then unlock.
4. Check operation.
