Oil Level Sensor: Description and Operation
1.
The low oil level sensor is mounted to the side of oil pan.
2.
When the oil level is approximately
1.4 L (1.5 qt) low, the low oil level sensor closes the circuit to ground and the low oil level warning comes on.
3.
When the oil level rises above approximately
1.4 L (1.5 qt) low, the low oil level sensor opens the circuit to ground.
