EVAP 2 - Vacuum Test Fuel System

^ Remove the fuel vapor hose from the fuel tank at the carbon canister.

^ Install a hand held pressure pump with gauge to the open end of the fuel vapor hose.

^ Apply 1.0 in Hg (0.5 psi) maximum pressure to the fuel vapor hose with the pressure pump.

^ Monitor the pressure gauge on the pump.

^ Is the fuel tank to carbon canister system holding a constant pressure?

YES -- Check for possible blockage in fuel vapor hose between fuel tank and carbon canister. If blockage is found, service as necessary. Remove pressure pump and gauge. Reconnect carbon canister, drive vehicle. If symptom is still present, return to diagnostic routines. SEE Powertrain Management / Testing and Inspection / Diagnostic Routines. If blockage is not present remove pressure pump and gauge. Reconnect carbon canister. Go to EVAP5. EVAP 5 - Check Vacuum In EVAP System

NO -- Go to EVAP 4. EVAP 4 - Check Fuel Tank-Gas Cap-Rollover Valve
