Lamp Out Module: Description and Operation

OPERATION
With the main light switch in the PARK or HEAD position and a burned out bulb is sensed, a lamp out warning indicator turns ON for any of the three lamp circuits.

Special vehicle wiring harnesses are used with the circuit.

Each lamp circuit contains a resistance wire that provides about 0.5 volts to the module when the bulbs operate.

If one bulb is out, only 0.25 volts is available.

This difference is detected and the lamp out indicator illuminates.
