Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview

1. Verify the customer's original concern by operating the windshield wiper and washer system to duplicate the condition.
2. Inspect to determine if one of the following mechanical or electrical concerns apply:






3. Visually inspect the components of the rear windshield wiper system.






4. Check the front and/or rear windshield wiper pivot arm for proper adjustment.
5. Check the front and/or rear windshield wiper pivot arm for proper connection to the windshield wiper motor shaft.
6. Check the wiring harness for obvious signs of shorts, opens, bad connections or damage.
7. If the concern(s) remains after the inspection, determine the symptom(s) and go to the Symptom Chart:
