Diagnostic Mode Switch/Connector: Description and Operation
PURPOSEThe Diagnostic Test Connector (DTC) is used to activate the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) when the Rotunda NGS Scan Tool 007-00500 is not available. It provides access to several systems in the vehicle for diagnosis and testing procedures. The following tests for systems can be accessed through the DTC:
- Electronic engine control diagnosis
- MIL bulb check
- Heated oxygen sensor monitor (fuel condition check)
The DTC is a four pin connector with three wires. The DTC goes through disconnection and connection process during the Diagnostic Test Mode.

Mounted on the transaxle next to MLP connectors, behind the engine coolant reservoir.
