Diagnostic Mode Switch/Connector: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
The Diagnostic Test Connector (DTC) is used to activate the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) when the Rotunda NGS Scan Tool 007-00500 is not available. It provides access to several systems in the vehicle for diagnosis and testing procedures. The following tests for systems can be accessed through the DTC:

- Electronic engine control diagnosis
- MIL bulb check
- Heated oxygen sensor monitor (fuel condition check)

The DTC is a four pin connector with three wires. The DTC goes through disconnection and connection process during the Diagnostic Test Mode.
