Throttle Full Close Switch: Description and Operation
Throttle Position Sensor/Idle (IDL) Switch Assembly:
PURPOSE The Idle
(IDL) switch detects idle position when the throttle plate is closed.
LOCATION Integrated in the
throttle position sensor assembly, and mounted to the Throttle body.
OPERATION The IDL switch signal is used by the PCM to control the following:

Fuel injection
-
Ignition timing
-
Fuel pump
-
Idle speed
