Removal and Replacement

REMOVAL

CAUTION: Electronic modules are sensitive to static electrical charges. If exposed to these charges, damage may result.

1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove the shift console and control box side covers.
3. Disconnect the harness connector from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM).
4. Remove the PCM and fuel pump relays from the PCM bracket.
5. Remove the rear seat heater outlet duct adapter and pad from the top of the PCM bracket.
6. Remove the three PCM bracket bolts and loosen the one retaining nut.
7. Remove the PCM and bracket from the vehicle floor tunnel.
8. Remove the front plastic clip from the PCM bracket.
9. Remove the PCM from the bracket by sliding it straight out.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Tighten the PCM bracket bolts to 8 Nm (6 lb ft).
3. Tighten the wiring harness electrical connector bolt to 6.2 Nm (55 lb in).
