1996-98 VILLAGER

This TSB article is being republished in its entirety to include 1998 model year.

ISSUE:
Some vehicles equipped with Electronic Temperature Control (ETC) and an Electronic Cluster may exhibit a condition where one display shows the temperature in degrees Fahrenheit and one in Celsius. This may be caused by the battery being disconnected and/or the customer pushing the display buttons in a quick, continuous manner.

ACTION:
Reset the display by pushing the defrost button and the A/C button at the same time while pushing the blower motor thumbwheel switch against the upper stop. This procedure will allow the user to toggle between English and Metric. It is not necessary to replace the A/C control head or the electronic instrument panel. Refer to the appropriate Villager Owner's Guide for reference.
