REMOVAL

WARNING: The electrical circuit necessary for system deployment is powered directly from the battery. To avoid accidental deployment and possible personal injury, the negative battery cable must be disconnected prior to servicing or replacing any system components.

1. Record pre-set radio frequencies for reprogramming following completion of service procedures.

2. Disconnect battery ground cable.

3. Wait one minute for back-up power supply energy to be depleted.

4. Remove front bumper cover.

5. Disconnect RH or LH primary crash sensor electrical connector.

6. Remove two screw and washer assemblies retaining RH primary crash front air bag sensor and bracket or LH primary crash front air bag sensor and bracket at front of radiator support, disengage wire harness retainers and remove RH primary crash front air bag sensor and bracket or LH primary crash front air bag sensor and bracket.


INSTALLATION
1. Position RH primary crash front air bag sensor and bracket or LH primary crash front air bag sensor and bracket in vehicle and secure RH primary crash front air bag sensor and bracket or LH primary crash front air bag sensor and bracket to RH or LH front of radiator support with two screw and washer assemblies. Tighten screw and washer assemblies to 11-13 Nm (91-122 lb in).

2. Connect RH or LH primary crash sensor wire lead connector to wiring assembly connector and secure wiring retainers.

3. Reconnect battery ground cable.

4. Prove out air bag system.

5. Install front bumper cover.

6. Reprogram radio frequencies and set clock.
