Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

CAUTION: Whenever an A/C condenser core is replaced, also replace the suction accumulator/drier.

NOTE: If an A/C condenser core leak is suspected, the A/C condenser core must be leak tested before it is removed from the vehicle.

1. Discharge and recover the refrigerant from the system. Discharging and Recovery





2. Disconnect the A/C suction manifold and tube spring lock coupling.

CAUTION: Plug all ports to prevent contamination from dirt or moisture.





3. Disconnect the front condenser to evaporator tube spring lock coupling.

CAUTION: Plug all ports to prevent contamination from dirt or moisture.





4. Remove the two LH radiator support upper bracket nuts and the support bracket.





5. Remove the two RH radiator support upper bracket bolts and the support bracket.





6. Remove the two push pins and the upper radiator air deflector.





7. Remove the two A/C condenser core mounting bracket bolts and the mounting brackets.





8. Remove the A/C condenser core.

INSTALLATION
1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2. Leak test the A/C system.
