Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

WARNING: Refer to Service Precautions before beginning procedures.







1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.

NOTE: When battery voltage is removed from the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), all learned values will be cleared and reset to predetermined values. When battery voltage is restored to the PCM, the vehicle may exhibit certain driveability concerns. It will be necessary to drive the vehicle to allow the PCM to relearn values for optimum driveablilty and performance.

2. Perform fuel pressure release procedures.
3. Place a suitable container below the fuel filter.






4. Loosen the fuel filter bracket clamp.






5. Remove the fuel line clips.






6. Disconnect the fuel tubes and remove the fuel filter.
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.






8. Connect the battery ground cable.
