Fuel Filter: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Perform Fuel Pressure Release procedure.
2. Remove push connect fittings at both ends of fuel filter.
3. Remove fuel filter and base from bracket by loosening mounting clamp enough to allow fuel filter and base to pass through.

INSTALLATION
1. Install fuel filter and base in bracket, ensuring proper direction of flow. Locate fuel filter and base against tab at lower end of bracket.

NOTE: The flow direction arrow should be positioned forward and downward to ensure proper flow of fuel through replacement fuel filter.

2. Install push connect fittings at both ends of fuel filter and base.
3. Tighten mounting clamp to 1.7-2.8 Nm (15-24 lb-in).
4. Start engine and inspect for leaks.
