Receiver Dryer: Service and Repair
REMOVAL1. Recover the refrigerant. Refrigerant Recovery
2. Remove the screws and reposition the power steering pump reservoir.
3. Disconnect the A/C manifold and tube spring lock coupling.
CAUTION: Plug all ports to prevent contamination from dirt or moisture.
4. Disconnect the suction line spring lock coupling.
CAUTION: Plug all ports to prevent contamination from dirt or moisture.
5. Disconnect the A/C cycling switch electrical connector.
6. Disconnect the speed control servo electrical connector.
7. Remove the nut and the bolt from the speed control servo bracket.
8. Remove the nut and the accumulator and bracket assembly.
9. Loosen the nut and remove the A/C accumulator bracket.
10. Remove the A/C cycling switch.
INSTALLATION
1. Follow the removal procedure in reverse order. Service the replacement suction accumulator/drier with the proper amount of PAG Compressor Oil Motorcraft YN-12b F2AZ-19577-AC or equivalent meeting Ford specification WSH-M1C231-B.
