Air Injection Pump: Service and Repair

Secondary Air Injection Pump, Typical:

REMOVAL
1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Disconnect secondary air injection pump outlet hose from secondary air injection pump outlet connector.
3. Disconnect electrical connectors from secondary air injection pump (AIR pump).
4. Remove two retaining nuts and one retaining screw and remove secondary air injection pump.
5. Remove three air pump to bracket retaining bolts.
6. Remove secondary air injection pump inlet hose.

INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order.
2. Orient the secondary air injection pump inlet hose with index mark aligned 10 rib on secondary air injection pump.
3. Tighten retaining bolts and nuts to 8-12 N.m (71-106 Lb-In).
