Seat Memory System

Using Memory Storage for Seat, Steering and Mirrors.

Cars equipped with memory seats may store up to three different seat positions. Most models have steering column and outside mirror positions also stored along with the seat position. Dependent on the production date the E46 may only have seat memory or it may also include the outside mirrors (9/99 production incorporates mirror modules).

To Store a Setting:




- Ignition in position 1 or 2 (KLR or KL15)
- Adjust the seat, steering column (if electric) and outside mirror positions.
- Press the MEMORY button, the button will illuminate.
- Press storage location button 1, 2 or 3, the light in the memory button will go out.

To Recall a Stored Position




One touch (convenience) function:
- Drivers door open or door closed with ignition in position 1 (KLR).
- Tap the stored location button desired 1-3.

Seat will move automatically to stored settings.

Press and hold (security) function:
- Drivers door closed and the ignition in position 0 or 2 (off, KL15)
- Press and hold the stored location button until the adjustments are completed.
