SUBJECT
Brake Lights On With Ignition Off

MODEL
R50 (Cooper)
R52 (Convertible)
R53 (Cooper S)

SITUATION
The brake lights stay on by themselves when switching to KL-30 (switching off ignition).

CAUSE
Body Control Module (ZKE/BC1/BC1RD)

PROCEDURE
Replace Body Control Module with one of the following parts numbers:

R50/R53 Part number 61 35 6 968 826 or later according to the EPC

R52 - Part number 61 35 6 968 827 or later according to the EPCC
