Brake lights on with ignition off.

Vehicles affected: R50 (Cooper) R52 (Convertible) R53 (Cooper S) to March 12, 2005

Complaint

The brake lights stay on by themselves when switching to KL-30 (switching off ignition).

Cause
Body Control Module (ZKE / BCI / BC1RD)

Measure

Replace Body Control Module with one of the following parts numbers:
R50/R53 - Part number 61 35 6 968 826 or later according to the EPC
R52 - Part number 61 35 6 968 827 or later according to the EPC
