Shift Interlock Cable: Adjustments

25 16 175 - Adjusting shift lock cable (CVT)

Remove center console 51 16 200 Removing And Installing Front Center Console.
Move selector lever to 'P' position.
Turn ignition key to '0' position and remove.





Release screw (1). The cable (2) must be able to move slightly in the mounting (3).
Press parking lock lever (4) downwards as far as it will go.
Tighten down screw.
Tightening torque 25 16 1AZ .





Note:
Check parking lock adjustment:
- Ignition key removed or in '0' position.
It should not be possible for the selector lever to be moved from the 'P' position
- Turn ignition key to 'ignition' position.
It must be possible to shift through all gear positions.
- Move selector lever to every position except 'P'.
It must not be possible in any of these selector lever positions to turn the ignition key back to the '0' position and remove the key.
- Move selector lever to 'P' position.
It must be possible to turn the ignition key back to the '0' position and remove the key.
If necessary, adjust cable for parking lock.
