Expansion Valve: Service and Repair




64 51 522 - Removing and installing or replacing expansion valve





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Draw off refrigerant from A/C system Service and Repair
- W10 only: Remove battery container. Removal and Replacement
- W11 only: Remove suction filter housing.
- W17 only: Remove front underbody protection Service and Repair





Release screws (1), tightening torque 64 11 4AZ [1][2]Specifications.
Detach refrigerant lines.

Installation:
Replace O-rings.





Release screws (1), tightening torque 64 11 5AZ [1][2]Specifications.
Remove adapter block.

Installation:
Replace O-rings.





Release screws (1).
Remove cover (2).





Detach expansion valve in direction of arrow (1) to engine compartment and remove in direction of arrow (2).

Installation:
Replace O-rings.
