PERFORM THE PROCEDURE OUTLINED IN THIS SERVICE INFORMATION ON ALL AFFECTED VEHICLES BEFORE CUSTOMER DELIVERY OR THE NEXT TIME THEY ARE IN THE SHOP FOR MAINTENANCE OR REPAIRS.

SUBJECT
Voice Recognition System Inoperative

MODEL
R56 (Cooper, Cooper S) with Voice Recognition System SA 620

Vehicles produced March 20, 2007 to May 11, 2007

SITUATION
The customer states that the Voice Recognition System is inoperative.

CAUSE
The enabling code (FSC) is not imported and activated.

PROCEDURE
Verify that the Voice Recognition System (SVS) is not working by pressing the SVS button on the steering wheel. This check should be made on all vehicles prior to delivery to the customer.

Order an enabling code via the parts department as an "Other Coded Part" VIN specific. After 24 hours the enabling code will be available for download via the ASAP portal. Once the enabling code is downloaded, extract the zipped file onto a blank CD.

Refer to the "Procedure" attachment on how to import the code using Progman V25.02.00 or higher.

If the appropriate labor operation is not contained in KSD, then a work time labor operation should be used.
