INFORMATION
Although the design of the front axle shafts is similar for all MINI models, there are model-specific repair instructions for the replacement of the CV boots. The appropriate repair procedures must be followed as listed below:
^ For R55 and R56 models, refer to Repair Instruction 31 60 535 "Replacing both gaiters on left and right of output shaft (output shaft removed)".
^ Do not disassemble the wheel side constant-velocity joint.
^ For R50, R52 and R53 models, refer to Repair Instruction 31 60 535 "Replacing both gaiters on left and right of output shaft".
^ Do not disassemble the inner constant-velocity joint.
