9.4.18. Fuel Injection System
Both the N16 and N18 engines use the cylinder-individual, fully sequential fuel injection system. The N18 uses a "direct" fuel injection system while the N16 uses a "manifold" fuel injection system.

N16 Engine

The N16 engine operates with a conventional "manifold" injection system. The system is a low pressure system which incorporates a tank mounted, electric fuel pump.

Although considered a manifold injection system, the fuel injectors are actually mounted in the cylinder head and deliver atomized fuel into the intake port (before the intake valve).
