Tailgate: Service and Repair

41 62 000 Removing and installing tailgate







Read contents of Body, General.
For stripping and rigging operations, refer to texts on KSD CD (job number 41 62 000).







Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove roof spoiler
- Remove trim for tailgate
- Remove gas pressure springs on the left and right
- Disconnect all cable plug connections and pull wiring harness out of tailgate.







Close tailgate.

IMPORTANT: Rear lid lock must not engage.

Carry over the work step shown symmetrically to the other side of the vehicle.
Unscrew nuts (1).
Tightening torque 41 62 1AZ.
Remove tailgate.

Installation note:
Attach tailgate at the screw impressions.
If necessary, adjust tailgate.
