Vehicle Speed Sensor: Service and Repair

On models equipped with airbag, disarm airbag as described under MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.

1. Disconnect speedometer cable at pulse generator side.
2. Remove clamp attaching bolt, then the pulse generator.
3. Reverse procedure to install noting the following:
a. Align mating marks of pulse generator and transmission as shown in Fig. 115.
b. Securely fit clamp in grooves in pulse generator body.
c. Torque clamp attaching bolt to 7-9 ft. lbs.
