Brake Pad: Service and Repair

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove front wheel.
2. Remove spigot pin and pull out stopper plug, Fig. 5.
3. Remove pad support plates, then repeatedly pull caliper assembly diagonally upward and downward to remove it. Position caliper out of way and support with wire.
4. Remove pad from caliper support.
5. Inspect all components, replacing as necessary.
6. Clean exposed part of piston, then compress piston.
7. Reverse procedure to install, ensuring that pad clip ``B'' inner pad clip, and outer pad clip are properly installed.
