Throttle Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection

1. Turn ignition switch to Off position, then disconnect sensor electrical connector, Fig. 12.
2. Check resistance between terminals 1 and 2. Resistance should be 4 - 6 kilo ohms.
3. Connect ohmmeter across terminals 1 and 3 or 2 and 3, then check to ensure that when throttle valve is slowly operated from idle to fully open position, resistance changes smoothly. Replace sensor as required.
