This bulletin supersedes EMR-90-001, which should be discarded.


PURPOSE

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) has found that certain 1986 1.5L Mirages do not comply with California emissions standards. Mitsubishi Motor Sales Of America is recalling 4,320 affected vehicles to perform certain necessary adjustments and modifications. These are covered in this Recall Bulletin.


IMPORTANT NOTICE


All dealerships must perform all steps as described in this Bulletin.


The California Air Resources Board ("CARB") may survey the results of this recall several months after starting. If incomplete repairs or noncompliance conditions are found, the CARB could require another recall.


AFFECTED VEHICLES

1986-model California-specification Mitsubishi Mirages with 1.5L engines are affected by this campaign. Included with each dealer's copies of this bulletin is a list of Vehicle Identification Numbers of affected cars sold by that dealership.

The owners of these vehicles have been notified by letter of the campaign and asked to bring their cars to a Mitsubishi Motors dealership for service. A copy of the Customer
