Transmission Throttle Control Cable Adjustment

TRANSMISSION THROTTLE CONTROL CABLE ADJUSTMENT FOR AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION EQUIPPED VEHICLES

NOTE: Engine MUST be at normal operation temperature 80 - 90 degrees C (180 - 190 degrees F.).

1. Raise rubber cover "B" (Figure 19), upwards to expose the cable stopper.

2. Loosen lower cable bracket mounting bolt.

3. Adjust the distance between cable stopper and cover to obtain the following dimension as shown in Figure 20.

Distance: 3 mm. + - 0.5 mm. (0.120 + - 0.020 in.).

4. Tighten lower cable bracket mounting bolt to 12-14 N-m (9 - 10.5 ft.lbs.).

5. Open carburetor throttle to the wide open position. Pull the transmission throftle control cable further up to confirm freedom of movement. If cable does not move further readjust the transmission throttle cable.
