Front Catalytic Converter Replacement

1. Liberally spray penetrating oil on the front catalytic converter retaining bolts. Remove the front catalytic converter (Figure 10) and lower heat protector assembly.

2. Transfer the lower heat protector to the new front catalytic converter which is contained in the EMR-92-002 emission kit. Install the new front catalytic converter.

3. Reverse the order of removal to reinstall the heat protectors.

Note:
Lightly coat the air pipe to exhaust manifold threads with anti-seize compound.
